DDR were engaged by Fortescue Metals Group to carry out work on the wharf at Anderson Point in Port Hedland in north-west WA.

The works comprised the replacement and repair of fender chains on the wharf, including direct replacement, as well as fabrication repairs and blast and painting works to the fenders.

Project HIGHLIGHTS

  • The project included many challenges, such as working over water, working within tide times and the added environmental risks of ensuring the containment of waste products while conducting work in a sensitive marine environment.
