RAAF Base Learmonth Blast Walls

Home | Defence | RAAF Base Learmonth Blast Walls

Project Description

RAAF Base Learmonth contains a number of blast walls (also known as gun misfire barricades), designed to protect infrastructure in the event of accidental discharge from aircraft within the hangars or aprons. The walls were generally in poor condition and needed remediation because of material degradation of concrete panels and tie rods. The project involved the encapsulation or demolition of blast walls located across a 3km x 2km area.
