Project Description

The RAAF Woomera Range Complex is a major Australian military and civil aerospace facility and operation located in South Australia, approximately 450km north-west of Adelaide.

DDR were engaged to perform the following scope of works at various locations on the base:

  • Installation of a new storage tanks.
  • New pumping station.
  • Civil and general earthworks.
  • Trenching.
  • Construction of concrete structures.
  • Sealant repairs.
  • Pipework installations (above and below ground).
  • Backfilling and compaction of trenches.
  • Making good of surfaces.

Project HIGHLIGHTS

  • Undertaking of pipeline investigations (NDT) from Woomera to Port Augusta with the requirement to liaise and manage isolations of the service with all stakeholders including pastoralists.
  • Demolition of ~20m/20T steel water tank without dedicated lifting points.
  • Working in and over a live waste water treatment facility.
  • Combination of passive and active CP systems.
  • Working in conjunction with the live asset responsible for the delivery of all potable water to the Woomera region.
